My name is Jessica and I’ve always loved reading. My favorite series growing up was Nancy Drew; I could not do without the Nancy Drew Mysteries and Case Files! Then I grew up, discovered Mills and Boon, then Historical Romances then Jackie Collins 😉

Now I’m definitely more into Romance. I mostly prefer Dark Erotica, Erotic Romance, Contemporary Romance and Paranormal Romance. Anyway, since I love books so much, I thought I’d start this blog…more like an online book club 🙂 expect book reviews and lots of discussions and book recommendations!

Jessy, I was wondering about the kind of sexual predilections of James and Bianca in the “Up in the Air” trilogy. I don’t want to sound like a prude but I really don’t like heavy S&M, which is what is referred to while describing these books. Could you give me some idea of what to expect if I read this series. I love the “Cross” series and can’t wait for the final book to be released. With “Fifty Shades of Grey” I had a couple of uncomfortable moments in the first book but not at all in the last 2.
    Thanks for your help.

    • Hi Strider, having read books heavy on S&M I can honestly tell you that this series is not. Expect spanking, maybe a crop here and there but James is a Dom, not a Sadist so its not heavy stuff…I would say that if you ended up enjoying Fifty Shades then you’ll love this one..

      Hope I helped ❤

Hi Jesse. Thanks for your reply to my question. I definitely want to read the series now! I’m pretty new to reading these types of books but I have to say that so far the Crossfire series is my favorite! I love the dirty talk! That’s a major turn on for me. And Gideon’s possessiveness of Eva. I can’t wait for the final book to come out. Do you know of any other series similar to the Crossfire novels… as far as the dirty talking about sex and the dominant male (without the BDSM) who wants to possess and yet take care of his woman?
I really appreciate your help and love reading all of your blog and the book reviews!

    • Glad to help 🙂 Dirty talk, possessive, minus BDSM…I would say This Man and it’s sequel Beneath This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas (I have a review for the latter), On Dublin Street by Samantha Young, Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren (i’ve also got a review for that)…if I think of more i’ll let you know. Thanks for following my reviews ❤

That is such a huge help for me Jessy! I can’t thank you enough. Thanks for responding so quickly so I can get to reading right away!

Yes thank you for that. I LOVE a possessive obsessive man, but I am NOT into BDSM. I like a dominate man, but the humiliation and punishments do not work for me. I get the impression that Captive in the Dark might be to much for me? How intense is it???? (she’s his slave right?) Any other recommendations would be awesome!

    • I would love nothing more than to recommend Captive in the Dark (one of my favorites) BUT you’ve mentioned you don’t like humiliation and this has it, it’s an extremely dark read.
I’d recommend to you the same books as above,
This Man and it’s sequel Beneath This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas (I have a review for the latter),
On Dublin Street by Samantha Young,
      Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
but maybe add to that Release Me by J. Kenner, and my newest favorite series The Kathleen Turner Series (i have the review for the first one, just finished the second and reading the third). Its Romantic Suspense so I don’t know if you’re into suspense but the men are Alpha, dominant, possessive and so sexy!
Also check out Megan Hart’s books, not possessive men but such beautifully written erotica….a bit on the emotional sad side (I have a review for Broken by Megan Hart, probably my favorite book ever)

Thank you for responding. Yes after I wrote my message I went back and checked your review for Captive in the Dark…..I think that one might be to much for me. I will check out Release Me though. The other books you mentioned I have in my file to read but I am waiting for all the books to be available so I don’t have to wait in between. Patience is not one of my strong suites. I just finished Lynda Chance “Marco’s Redemption”. What a great alpha male! Hot and dominating. There was another book I was going to ask you about but I can’t think of it right now, but when I do I’ll check in. Love your site!

      • Lemme know when you think of it! I’ll definitely check out Marco’s Redemption…love love book recommendations!

Ok so I read your review about Consequences and Truth. This is another one of those stories I’m drawn to but know that it would probably be to much for me….thoughts? Also the book I wanted ask you if you read was Sherri Hayes Slave and Need.

My absolute favorite dark read is Captive in the Dark by CJ Roberts. I read/listened to all three of these books and absolute loved them. I can’t wait to read more dark reads.

  10. Hi, Jessica. I am an author of three, soon to be four published erotic, BDSM Menage romances and was wondering how one goes about becoming a guest author on your blog. My newest one, Keeping Sarah, is being released on August 7 by Siren-Bookstrand. It is the third and last in the series begun by Loving Sarah and its sequel Owning Sarah. Thank you very much for your response.

  11. Hi Jessy,
I would love to recommend Emma Lauren’s books – When It’s Love and When It’s Over. I have read both of these books and was blown away by the story. This is a student/teacher romance with a twist 😀 The story starts off with When It’s Love and continues with When It’s Over. When It’s Over can be read as a stand-alone. Both books are available on Amazon 🙂 If you do decide to check out Emma’s books, please let me know what you think 😀

    Hi Jessy
I was looking for a good example of a blog for Dark Erotica, to start my own, when I found yours… seems you have beaten me to it!
Never mind, I’ll simply enjoy your site and put my feet up :0)
    Great site.
