Blog Tour: Review + Giveaway – Taunting Destiny (The Fae Chronicles #2) – Amelia Hutchins

After the end that was book #1, Fighting Destiny, I had to know what would come next! I had my own theory about Ryder but it turns out I was so off the mark!

But first a synopsis. Taunting Destiny begins right where Fighting Destiny ended. Synthia has just seen Ryder involved in what she can only summise as the killing of Guild members. This only confirms what she has always thought about Ryder; he is dangerous, possibly evil, she should definitely stay away. But unfortunately (or fortunately) for her, Ryder wants her, so he’ll have her. It’s as easy as that. See, he doesn’t play by human rules.

He. Is. Fae. That means he is a fucking predator that is used to taking what he wants, and he will protect and defence what belongs to him by any means necessary. And before you go ona d on about how no one owns you, trust me, he does. You just haven’t gotten it through your head yet, but your heart knows it’s true.

Sigh… Ryder. He definitely opened up in this one. Though he’s still a hard ass when it comes to love, and though he’s basically implated himself into Synthia’s life, he did open up. And we all know how possessive he is, especially with Adrian the vampire in the picture!

And talkin of hard asses, Synthia… she learnt to protect herself at an early age and can’t imagine relinqushing that control to anyone… least of all Ryder. But she is in transition to become Fae, and that means she needs to feed. And you do remember how the Fae feed right? You guessed it… sex after steamy sex. And seriously, they steamed it up!

Other than the incredible steam, we also find out more of Ryder’s secrets. We dig deeper into Synthia’s life and there are even more surprises. I do feel like it got a bit more convoluted toward the end (hence my rating) but it’s only because I’ve never done well with Urban Fantasy. Too many preternaturals for my simple mind to keep up! But if you enjoy this genre, you should definitely read this series. Deception, action, steam, suspense… all in a world like no other. And yes, a huge cliffhanger!
