Book Review – Master Undone (Inside Out #2.5) – Lisa Renee Jones

Since meeting Mark in If I Were You (Inside Out #1) I wanted to know more about him. And even though we got to know him slightly better in Being Me (Inside Out #2), it was still not enough to quench my curiosity.

A warning: While this book is in Mark’s POV, the circumstances in the story occur after Being Me, so you would have to read that first to avoid spoilers.

Mark is on his way to New York to check on his mother who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. And while that torments him, he is also tormented by the loss of Rebecca. He blames himself for what happened and is convinced that he has to stay away from women, especially women who are not into BDSM.

Upon arrival in New York, the new Sales Manager of Riptide collects him from the airport. Crystal Smith… the complete opposite of everything Mark goes for. For one, she’s blond and we all know Mark prefers brunettes. Secondly, she’s clearly not intimidated by him. Mark loves being in control, he does not chase women, yet he finds himself chasing after Crystal more than once. And not only does she threaten his control, she takes it from him.

The book is written in the signature style of Lisa Renee Jones. First person and almost poetic. You get to connect with the characters because you feel as if you’re right there with them. I’ve loved everything I’ve read from Lisa Renee Jones so far and this one does not disappoint. It’s a prelude of what is to come in Marks story and I absolutely can’t wait!

4 stars!
