Book Review + Giveaway – Allure (Spiral of Bliss Book #2) – Nina Lane

Arouse Book #1 is one of my favorite books this year and I just couldn’t wait for its sequel!

After all the drama that was Arouse, Dean and Liv are desperately trying to work out the problems in their marriage.

We both want this so badly. I can feel it resonating between us like the hot pull of our first attraction, tangible and intense. We want our marriage to be a haven of warmth and pleasure again. We want our pure lustiness back, untainted by fear and mistrust. We want the unending spirals of bliss we can create only with each other. We want to shut the rest of the world.

And they try, only to realize that reality always sets in. Dean has to go back to California to deal with a family emergency. Liv insists on going with him which not only opens up old wounds, it also creates the most intense pain… pain that I couldn’t believe Dean had to go through again… Sigh… I almost cried for this man.

We also finally understand why he’s the way he is; his need to protect Liv. So intense and so heartbreaking…

Liked the way I didn’t feel cold inside when I was with her, the way I didn’t think about anything except her… I liked the way she looked at me, as if she knew I would protect her. That I could.

Until… I couldn’t.

I actually ached for Dean. His need to protect Liv is unrealistic, but I will say that as much as I’m rooting for Liv to live her life and discover her bliss, I understand Dean’s need to protect her. Especially since we find out even more of her past.

Expect angst in bucketfuls, and you will probably shed a tear because this one definitely makes your heart hurt. I can’t wait for Book #3… I’ve never rooted for a fictional couple the way I have Dean and Liv.

If you want a realistic romance, one where the hero and heroine are relate-able, one where the situations are authentic and one that will make you ache as you swoon, then Nina Lane’s Spiral of Bliss books should be your next buy.

4.5 Stars!
