Book Review – Turn to Me (Kathleen Turner Series Book #2) – Tiffany A. Snow

Remember how I said I heard this one is even better than Book #1? It is! I love this series!

So, Kathleen and Blane are still together. Blane is working on a case involving a Navy SEAL accused of the wrongful death of an American citizen during a military operation overseas. The case is very high profile and someone has made it clear they want Blane to lose. Bodies start piling up, witnesses recanting their statements and its clear someone wants Kathleen dead (will this girl ever catch a break?!)

I didn’t like the initial pages because they were mostly repetitive in my opinion. You know, who’s who, what’s what etc. Maybe the author intends for it to be possible to read the books as stand alones. Either way, having read Book #2 right after Book #1, I hadn’t forgotten a thing so for me it was a bit repetitive.

However, when the drama with the Navy SEAL case started I was right back into it! I’m really intrigued by the author’s choice of story-lines and there’s such a nice balance between the romance and the suspense I never never feel like i’m missing one or the other. They just blend so seamlessly…neither one suffering. For me the story-line is what makes the book superior..much more than the romance. But don’t get me wrong, the fact that there are two alpha males, its like Christmas morning!

Kade was more prominent in this book. Blane hires him to protect Kathleen but of course there’s great chemistry between Kade and Kathleen. At first I wasn’t understanding why some people prefer Kade to Blane. Ok so he looks like Ian Somerhalder (at least in mind’s eye) but Blane is…I want to say Henry Cavill but Blane is blond..so i’ll say…a blond Henry Cavill…or maybe Paul Walker 🙂

Usually I get annoyed at heroines who keep moving between two men but I don’t blame Kathleen one bit. These men are incredibly hot but in their own unique way. I was team Blane all the way then we started getting glimpses of a vulnerable Kade and I realized why some readers are Team Kade.

“Don’t try to rescue me Kathleen,” he said flatly, a bitter smile curving his lips. “I’m beyond saving.”

Yup, women just can’t resist a tortured soul. So I understood Kathleen when she said this;

“I don’t want Blane,” I said, ignoring the little voice in the back of my head that laughed in outright derision at that whopper. “But I can’t have you. Don’t you see that?”

His eyes searched mine before he finally replied, “You’re the only one who sees that.”

Sigh…Kade 🙂

Then just like a yoyo i’m back on Team Blane

His gaze lifted to mine. “Is it too late?” he asked, his voice pained even as his thumb brushed my cheek. “Am I too late to put us back together?”

Seriously, a love triangle like this is hardly fair! And then that epilogue…

I wish there’s a way she could convince two Alpha Males to practice polyandry…now that would be fun!

5 thrilling stars!

  1. I love this series. Can not wait for book #3 in the summer

Okay, so I have a recommendation. The KGI series by Maya Banks. Very well written, interesting stories with good romance. I’ve loved them.

    • I’ll definitely check that one out. I’m really in for some suspense and more than just smut 🙂

Thanks for the rec 🙂 x

Then that’ll be a great one for you. The men are soooo lovable alpha male with a good suspense story, but the sweetest romances. The characters are really well-written, too. I’m thinking of trying her Rushed series too, which IS a little bit more smut centered. Let me know what you think if you try it!

      • Just checked the link…I could spend a lot of time there!!! Love her book covers 🙂 Ok so Rush (Brethless Trilogy?) is pulling me more than KGI…though to be honest I seriously need more time for reading! :/

Yeah, the Breathless trilogy looked really good and I downloaded free Kindle samples of both the first in that and in KGI and KGI caught my attention more.

Though I’m totally going back to Rush, because it had me hooked too. KGI was just good suspense romance
