Book Review – Knight (Unfinished Hero Series #1) – Kristen Ashley

OH MY GOD! I’m still in a daze after reading this book! I loved it so much I want to make sure everyone reads it! Ok, so I know a lot of people are major Kristen Ashley (KA) fans. I on the other hand have only read 2 other KA books (Mystery Man and Motorcycle Man). While I really like both books, Knight is the book that has elevated KA in my eyes.

I was told Knight was darker than her other books. Once I read the warning attached I decided to buy it. (I love dark erotica and books that come with a warning intrigue me 🙂 ) I was not disappointed. First things first; a synopsis. Anya Gage has learned that to get anything good in life, you have to work for it. She has no expectations, no dreams. Then she finds herself at a party where she doesn’t want to be and she meets Knight.

Knight is the kind of man who knows what he wants and goes for it, no apologies. He has filthy talk down to a T. Even the way he gave compliments for example:

“Babe, your clothes. Shit. But you work ’em and you do because you’ve got one serious fanstastic body, your hair is even better and your face is a face that launches a thousand hard-ons.”

Gahhh! Right?! He was as possessive and controlling as he was handsome and even sweet! I loved it! I mean this is fiction for a reason and my fictional boyfriend is everything Knight was. In real life though if I ever met a guy like him i’d run for the hills!

“It’s fucking’ three thirty in the morning and I drove here from my place where I found my bed empty. Then I got here and the chain was fuckin’ on. One word answer,” he bit out. “Yes or no. You forget where you were supposed to sleep and who was gonna be sleepin’ beside you? And babe, warning, the answer better be yes.”

See what I mean?! But he was also so so sweet. If I wasn’t smiling, swooning or fanning myself (damn those sex scenes!), I was sighing…and other times doing all four at the same time!

“But i’m tellin’ you right now, and mark it Anya, i’m fuckin’ thankful your cell was jacked. Because if it wasn’t, you wouldn’t have wandered into my bedroom that night and I wouldn’t go to bed at night with the scent of your hair all I can smell and the taste of your pussy still in my mouth and your sweet body close to me and know i’ll sleep easy and wake up happy. And I wake up happy, baby, because I possess beauty and I own that beauty in all the forms it can take and the least important of those are physical”

Sigh….

And did I mention the sex scenes? STEAMY! The book has elements of BDSM. Light BDSM, no playrooms, dungeons and playgrounds. But Knight likes control everywhere and I mean everywhere. Did you notice I din’t even mention Anya? No space when i’m hero worshiping Knight! But I liked Anya and she held her own in her own way 🙂

Ok now you get it, I loved the book. There’s a 2nd book in the series, ‘Creed’ and i’ll be starting that as soon as I can. I need a break to cool off first! But I really really hope Kristen Ashley can write more of these ‘darker’ books. There’s a huge audience for them and they might not necessary be the usual KA fans but huge all the same.
